Victor Wanyama's Days With Southampton Might Be Numbered

Victor Wanyama has made as many headlines this season for time spent in the stands as for his efforts on the pitch and the Southampton midfielder may have to get used to watching from the sidelines thanks to the impressive form of deputy Oriol Romeu.

Wanyama was left out by manager Ronald Koeman for the 3-0 win over Norwich in September after claiming he was "not mentally fit to play," after demanding Southampton sanctioned a move to Tottenham -- a request that was flatly
turned down.

The former Celtic powerhouse found himself back in Koeman's bad books after picking up his second red card of the season in the corresponding fixture at Carrow Road; a 1-0 defeat earlier this month that triggered a two-match suspension.

His punishment served, Wanyama is available for selection for Saturday's vital visit of West Brom, but Koeman would be either brave or foolish to bring him straight back into the team after Romeu's efforts during the African's absence. [Source]
